Although the Denver Nuggets won the Northwest Division and earned the Western Conference's third seed, coach George Karl knows they won't go very far in the playoffs if their late-season struggles carry over to the postseason.
"My concern is, we're playing with energy spurts," Karl said after the Nuggets' 86-83 loss to Houston on Monday, their third straight defeat and seventh in 11 games.

Mike Miller scored a franchise-record 41 points to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 116-102 win over the Denver Nuggets on Friday night. Miller, who also set a franchise record for points from a reserve, connected on 12 of his first 15 shots and 15-of-24 for the game as the Grizzlies built the lead to 22 in the third quarter.
The shots were falling at their end, nothing seemed to be going in on the other, and the lead kept building. It seemed almost too easy for the Denver Nuggets. Apparently, it was. Guard Howard Eisley will remain with the Nuggets for the rest of the season after playing under two 10-day contracts for Denver, his eighth NBA team. The 12-year veteran averaged 2 points and 1.8 assists in 7.8 minutes in six games. He signed the first 10-day contract March 3. Eisley also has played for Minnesota, San Antonio, Utah, Dallas, New York, Phoenix and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Mehmet Okur scored 24 points and the Jazz used easy layups to shoot 58.5 percent from the field in their 115-104 win over the Nuggets on Wednesday night. It was the highest shooting percentage the Northwest Division-leading Nuggets have allowed an opponent this season.
Center Marcus Camby missed the Nuggets' game against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night with a mid-back strain. Camby reported tightness in his back Wednesday morning, the team said. He is listed as day to day. Camby has missed 22 games this season, including 15 in December and January because of a broken finger.
